OKAY – so we broke our own rule and launched AVEOASIA on the general public without our demo aircraft – And we are very pleased we did!
The Karnival Udara Kuala Lumpur ’07 (KUKL) is attaining pilot and enthusiasts from not only Malaysia but Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines.
The “cross-section” of show visitors also gives us the opportunity to gauge reaction from young aspiring pilots and experience older pilots brought up the traditional Cessna and Pipers aircraft and classic, and now very out of date, analogue gauge flight panels.
To be honest we were somewhat reluctant to do our “first show” without our actual product range being available for seeing and touching “in the flesh” as it were, but as it turned out the pre-launch data and details that we were able to present caused a lot of serious interest and excitement for the majority of visitors to our stand. The overwhelmingly positive response gives us even more incentive to move our new company forward in the quest to bring the AVEO Aircraft – the Phantom and the Shadow and avionics range - the DigitalFlightDeck, into the region and offer it to all light sports pilots, and light aircraft operators and hopefully encourage more would be aviators to take the plunge into the exciting lifestyle of recreational flying.
The PHANTOM and future SHADOW aircraft got unanimous thumbs up for style, looks, design and capability – a common point always raised was that of engine choice and option – a large number of visitors wanted a bigger power plant or different make of engine – on this we can only say “watch this space”! a third engine option will soon be available as alternative to the current standard Rotax 912 and optional 914, the new engine will be similar power output but from a different manufacturer – and as far as a more powerful engine is concerned I am sworn to secrecy by the AVEO Big Boss! To those who suggested we should stay with the “tried and tested” Lycoming and Continental engines – sorry guys, as Technical Director – Mr Michael E. Roche, Aircraft Design Engineer of twenty years, insist that AVEOASIA only accept the best solutions to any design or engineering requirement – if the interest is in restoring a 30 or 40 year classic aircraft we will use a classic engine – AVEOASIA is supplying a 2007 design LSA aircraft to customers and will only supply the best available technology and, as with the DigitalFlightDeck, if the available technology is not good enough we will develop our own.
The DIGITALFLIGHTDECK range of avionics and communications equipment was an overwhelming success once the team got past the first question or statement “are you serious?” Yes we are - AVEOASIA is now very proud and excited to be able to offer the average sports pilot access to truly AFFORDABLE and USEABLE digital glass equipment.
OK – we have a lot of work to do so see you all at the AIRCRAFT launch at the end of the year – everyone is welcome and will be formally invited as soon as we have definite dates sorted out. Please visit our website www.aveoasia.com on a regular basis to keep up with speed of the development.
Again, many thanks to all who visited our booth and many thanks to MSAF for such a good show considering the short notice and we will be delighted to support the 2008 show – please advise where and when ASAP and to our new friends in Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines & Singapore – we are very much looking forward to bringing the aircraft to show as soon as we can.
Safe Flying and Best Regards to All!
For and On Behalf of the AVEOASIA Team.
